The year 2025 marked a remarkable chapter for the RVC Ag Society. With record-breaking attendance and a surge in community participation, the society’s events brought people together like never before. From rodeo competitions to family-friendly fairs, each occasion reflected the strength and spirit of the community. This post highlights the key moments and achievements that made 2025 a year to remember.

Alberta High School Rodeo Shines Bright
The year kicked off with the annual Alberta High School Rodeo, a favorite event for many. This year, the board introduced a special touch by awarding buckles to the young competitors. For several participants, this was their first buckle win, and the joy on their faces was unforgettable. The decision to invest in these awards paid off by encouraging and recognizing the dedication of future rodeo stars.
In addition to the buckles, the society awarded four scholarships to deserving rodeo students. Selecting only four recipients was a tough task given the high caliber of applicants. These scholarships support talented youth who are committed to keeping Alberta’s rodeo traditions alive. The society takes pride in playing a role in nurturing the next generation of rodeo athletes.
Spring Fun at Country Connections
The spring community event, Country Connections, offered a relaxed and enjoyable day for families. One of the highlights was the steer riding competition, where top riders earned the chance to compete later at Bulls on the Beach. The event also featured a bee trailer, giving visitors a chance to learn about bees and their importance.
Families enjoyed a market with local vendors and activities for children. Visitors could interact with alpacas, ponies, and a mini donkey, or even take a pony ride. This event fostered community bonding and provided a fun, educational experience for all ages.
Bulls on the Beach Breaks Records
Bulls on the Beach was a standout event in 2025, drawing a sold-out crowd. The energy was high even when unexpected rain poured down just as the cabaret began. Safety concerns led to an early shutdown, but the enthusiasm of attendees remained strong throughout the evening.
The event’s success was a testament to the hard work of organizers and volunteers. Despite the weather, the community’s passion for rodeo and entertainment shone through, making Bulls on the Beach a memorable highlight of the year.
Cornhole Tournament Brings the Community Together
In August, the society partnered with the Mad Hatters Cornhole group and the City of Chestermere to host a Cornhole tournament in the park. This casual, fun afternoon was a great way to engage the community and build excitement for the upcoming Aloha Cornhole Tournament at the Country Fair.
The tournament attracted players of all skill levels and provided a relaxed setting for socializing and friendly competition. Events like this strengthen community ties and offer new ways for people to connect.
The 36th Annual Country Fair Delivers New Experiences
The 36th Annual Country Fair was another busy and engaging event. The parade remained a crowd favorite, with a strong turnout of floats and spectators. This year, the fair introduced new activities such as family bingo and a cornhole tournament, adding fresh entertainment options for attendees.
The fair’s success was reflected in a 30% increase in ticket sales compared to 2024. This growth highlights the community’s enthusiasm and support for the event. The fair continues to be a cornerstone of local culture, bringing together families and friends for a day of fun and celebration.
The achievements of 2025 show how the RVC Ag Society continues to build a strong, connected community through diverse and well-loved events. From supporting young rodeo talent to creating family-friendly activities, the society’s efforts have made a lasting impact.
