Chestermere's first Bull Riders Canada sanctioned bull riding event! Join the Rocky View Chestermere Agricultural Society and 25 of Canada's best bull riders for a night of wild action. Doors open at 6:00 pm bulls buck at 7:00 pm. There will be 25 riders in the long go and then we're bringing the top 10 riders back for the short go in a "Pick Your Poison", winner takes all finale. The RVC Ag. Society would like to invite all members to our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 beginning at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held at the Chestermere Recreation Centre, in the lounge. The doors will be open prior to 7:00 pm in case anyone requires a membership. The Country Fair may be cancelled for 2020, but we're still going to have a parade!! It's a DRIVE-BY parade! The parade will remain stationary and the public may drive by the parade from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 12 in the new community of Chelsea. The Rocky View Chestermere Agricultural Society is determining if there is enough interest to start a beginner beekeeping training course in 2020. It will entail 6 - 8 weekly sessions of in-class training during January and February and then hands-on in the field once the bees are awake and needing tending in our apiary. There is no cost for this program, however, we ask that you are able to commit to the whole season (February / March - September/ October) and help out when needed in the apiary. The Chestermere Agricultural Society has recently changed its name to the Rocky View Chestermere Agricultural Society to more accurately reflect our members, both rural and urban. The name change will slowly come into effect as we update our website, social media accounts and marketing. September 8th is almost here, and the Country Fair committee has been busy all summer working to bring you the 29th Annual Country Fair. Parade registrations are still being accepted. This year, there will be a "Best Overall Parade Entry" trophy awarded and the lucky winner will also take home $100.00! Mutton Bustin' registration closes on Tuesday, August 28th. Payment and waivers must also be received by that date. The indoor marketplace is sold out, but if you missed out on getting a booth there are a few spots left in the outdoor Farmers' Market. One important change for 2018 is that all Red Ribbon participants must have a valid 2018 Chestermere Agricultural Society membership. Memberships are only $5.00 for a single or $10.00 for a family and they are available through the Ag. Society website. The Country Fair booklet is available online.
