2020 proved to be a quiet year for the RVCAS. With the onset of Covid-19, all of our planned programs were cancelled.
We did however, manage to send quite a few board members to the AAAS annual meetings before covid-19 shut down public gatherings. The board members who went seemed to glean some new information that we are implementing into our AG society.
Even without many face to face encounters, the board was still working behind the scenes and got a few notable things accomplished.
The bee program forged ahead and while they were not able to run an introductory course or have any open hive days, the bees have been tended to and they did manage to collect a decent amount of honey. We have approximately 70 containers to gift to volunteers in our organization.
Our rodeo is also quietly working away at events for next year. We purchased a set of bucking chutes that we hope to make good use of in 2021.
We also built a front deck on our trailer and installed a second sea can.
Finally, the bylaw committee has been working to revise our current bylaws so that they align with the new Alberta Agriculture and Forestry best practise bylaws.
We hope to be able to resume our regularly scheduled programs in 2021.
